At 8:20 a. m. yesterday, the hylobates hoolock "Sangang" in Hangzhou Wild Animal World gave birth to its little baby. It's the first successful reproduction of hylobates hoolocks in Hangzhou.
Workers there told us that in half of a month, the little hylobates hoolock would leave its mother at times for a walk, and visitors then might get a close look at it.
It includes primates such as the extinct giant ape Gigantopithecus, as well as the ancestors of the living orangutan (Pongo) and gibbon (Hylobates).
The composition of diet of two Hylobates leucogenys was measured with 52.63% of it being cereal grains.
